Sophie + Drones in the Garden

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of collaborating with local artist and musician Sophie Hull. Sophie’s musical work, is known as Sleep Number. She experiments with merging heavy drone, noise, and driving vocals with concrete samples & synth-laden soundscapes and occasional guitar.

In January, she and fellow musicians Lynn Fister and Patrick Kuckuka hosted Drones in the Garden XIII – The Abandon Garden Clouds at Revolve, a co-op contemporary art space, continuing their ongoing immersive project.

I met up with Sophie in the DITG installation alongside photographer Tia Corbin, where we captured her wearing pieces she selected from the LWS collection - pieces she also wore during her performances.
