These nipple covers are worn over the nipple/breast and under a nursing bra (or standard bra). They stay in place easily when worn under a supportive garment. They are designed to appear in keeping with the natural contours of the breast.

"Last year (2022), a few weeks before June was born, I shared a story (on social media) about a pair of sterling silver nipple covers I made in anticipation of the potential physical discomfort that often comes along with the rapid entry into the world of breastfeeding. I became aware of nipple covers through @designingmotherhood. They date back centuries, and the properties of silver aid in the healing of damaged skin and help protect against potential infection. I took the pair I made with me to the hospital and started wearing them immediately once June was born. They were especially helpful during those first few days when June and I were becoming acquainted with each other and learning the feeding process together. For the next three months, I wore them constantly, only taking them off when I was feeding June, and I still wear them occasionally when I am feeling discomfort. Making these covers is a small gesture of comfort for nursing mothers struggling to find relief from the pain and discomfort that comes with beginning to breastfeed." -L
